What are my payment plan options?

Humm

Humm is a buy now, pay later service that offers flexibility and convenience for patients by spreading the cost of treatment over a period of time no matter how small or big the treatment required is.

Eligibility for Humm typically requires applicants to:

  1. Be at least 18 years old.
  2. Have a valid email address and mobile phone number.
  3. Provide identification such as a driver’s license, passport, or Medicare card.
  4. Meet affordability criteria, which may include a satisfactory credit assessment and income verification.

Once approved, the patient can proceed with their dental treatment. Instead of paying the full treatment cost upfront, they can split the cost into interest-free instalments over a period agreed upon with Humm. Patients can typically manage their payments and track their account through the Humm app or website.

If you are considering this option and requiring more information, please visit the Humm website.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) is an Australian government agency that provides services to current and former members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), as well as their families and eligible dependents. The DVA provides dental benefits under the Veterans’ Dental Program (VDP), which covers a range of dental treatments and services, including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, dentures, and root canal therapy, among others.

Who is eligible?

Eligibility for dental services through the DVA is typically based on a person’s status as a current or former member of the ADF. For more information about The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), please click here.

Will there be any out of pocket expenses?

Under the Veterans’ Dental Program, eligible veterans generally do not have to pay any out-of-pocket costs when they visit a dentist who participates in the program. The DVA reimburses dentists directly for the cost of providing dental services to eligible patients, meaning that veterans can receive necessary dental care without having to pay upfront or incur out-of-pocket expenses.

Superannuation access

Accessing your superannuation for dental treatment is possible under certain circumstances. There are specific situations where you may be able to access your superannuation early to cover dental treatment costs:

  1. Severe Financial Hardship
  2. Terminal Illness
  3. Total and Permanent Disability (TPD)
  4. Early Release of Superannuation on Medical Grounds

Before considering accessing your superannuation for dental treatment, it’s essential to seek advice from a financial advisor or tax professional to understand the potential implications and eligibility criteria. Additionally, you may need to apply directly to your superannuation fund or the ATO, depending on the circumstances. For more information about accessing superannuation, please click here.
